Founding partner Debra Katz was recently quoted in the Associated Press article, “Andrew Cuomo’s Legal Woes Could Cost the Public $9.5 Million.”
The state of New York has agreed to pay up to $9.5 million to lawyers representing and investigating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his administration amid allegations of sexual harassment made by former aides. But that amount could go up in the coming months as survivors begin filing civil suits against Cuomo, which could result in settlements paid by the state. Ms. Katz, who represents Charlotte Bennett, said that such settlements are the only reasonable way to move forward.
“I believe if there is going to be any kind of appropriate conclusion to this, it has to be to make the victims of his misconduct whole,” Ms. Katz said.
