Founding partner Debra Katz was recently quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “Anita Hill Cut Path to #MeToo as Barriers Persist 30 Years Later.”
Thirty years have passed since Anita Hill’s groundbreaking testimony during the Senate confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, when Ms. Hill was met with bipartisan skepticism and even hostility. Today, employers and the public have a greater awareness and understanding of workplace sexual harassment, particularly in the wake of the #MeToo movement. Now, Ms. Katz says, employers are more likely to be held accountable for sexual misconduct.
“We have seen powerful people be terminated for this kind of behavior,” Ms. Katz stated. “That sends a strong message with companies and to employers.”
