Katz, Marshall & Banks partner Debra Katz spoke about the impact of the #MeToo movement on the prevention and handling of workplace sexual harassment at the Practicing Law Institute’s (PLI’s) Employment Law Meeting. The annual two-day event hosts speakers who discuss recent developments in employment law, including new case law and regulatory changes. The PLI faculty consists of attorneys from the management and plaintiffs bars, members of the judiciary, in-house counsel, and government officials all sharing their unique perspectives.
Ms. Katz’s panel, “#MeToo 2.0,” covered the many facets companies consider when faced with issues of workplace sexual harassment. The speakers discussed several considerations, including how employers can address harassment before it happens with innovative trainings, the right way to investigate difficult issues, how to craft appropriate remedies, the latest on non-disclosure agreements, and much more.
