Lisa Banks Criticizes NFL’s Handling of Washington Football Team Investigation

Katz, Marshall & Banks senior partner Lisa Banks expanded on her criticism of punishment levied against the Washington Football Team by the NFL in an interview with Scott Abraham of WJLA-TV.

Following the conclusion of independent counsel Beth Wilkinson’s investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and bullying levied by former team employees, the NFL announced its decision to fine the team $10 million. Ms. Banks, who represents dozens of former Washington Football Team employees alongside senior partner Debra Katz, focused much of her criticism on the fact that the NFL has decided not to make Ms. Wilkinson issue a written report that could be made public. 

"I think it’s outrageous," Ms. Banks said. "I think we have seen that there’s been no transparency and no accountability here, and I have over 40 clients who are truly devastated."
